Wall Street people moves of the week: Here's a rundown of promotions and new hires at firms like Goldman Sachs, Brevan Howard, and Citi

Sundaram was involved in designing and selling trades Goldman did for the Malaysia development fund known as 1MDB trades, although he was never implicated in the scandal.</li><li><strong>Goldman Sachs</strong> hired <strong>Swati Bhatia,</strong> a former exec at Stripe, as a partner leading the bank's direct-to-consumer strategy, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-sachs-names-former-stripe-exec-head-direct-consumer-business-2021-2">according to an internal memo viewed by Insider</a>. In the same memo, Goldman also said it is elevating partner <strong>David Stark,</strong> who helped lead the firm's Apple Card launch and its acquisition of GM's credit-card portfolio, to head large partnerships within the consumer division.</li><li><strong>Brevan Howard</strong>&nbsp;poached mortgage trader <strong>Morad Masjedi</strong> from <strong>Goldman Sachs, </strong>where Masjedi spent 14 years, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/brevan-howard-hire-morad-masjedi-goldman-sachs-portfolio-manager-2021-2">sources told Insider</a>. Masjedi will run a mortgages-focused portfolio in New York for <strong>Alan Howard's</strong> $11 billion fund.</li><li><strong>Gregoire Vidal,</strong> formerly at <strong>ExodusPoint Capital</strong>, is also joining<strong> Brevan Howard,</strong> per Hedge Fund Alert. Vidal led business development for quantitative strategies at&nbsp;ExodusPoint<strong>.</strong></li><li><strong>Goldman Sachs</strong> is making moves in its human resources diversity and inclusion team. Chief Diversity Officer <strong>Erika Irish Brown's </strong>mandate has been expanded to include advising the firm's businesses on inclusive best practices, according to a memo seen by Insider.</li><li><strong>Megan Hogan,</strong> meanwhile<strong>, </strong><strong>Goldman's</strong> head of diversity recruiting, will now oversee the acquisition, promotion, and retention of diverse professionals across the bank.</li><li>Also within human resources at <strong>Goldman Sachs, </strong>the firm promoted head of Employee Relations <strong>Aime Hendricks</strong> to additionally lead its business partner team, per the same memo.<strong>&nbsp;</strong>UK-based <strong>James Fulton</strong>, the chief learning officer and global head of talent development, will now also serve as head of the talent group.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>JPMorgan</strong> has hired <strong>Chuka Umunna,</strong> a former member of parliament in the UK and the former head of European, Middle East, and Africa ESG consulting at PR firm <strong>Edelman</strong>, as <a href="https://www.fnlondon.com/articles/jpmorgan-hires-chuka-umunna-to-lead-esg-efforts-in-europe-20210210">its new head of ESG in Europe, according to Financial News</a>.&nbsp;</li><li>Japanese banking giant <strong>MUFG </strong>will have a new leader of its Americas business as of April. <strong>Kevin Cronin </strong>will take over the role as head of <strong>MUFG Union Bank</strong>, the bank <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/mufg-appoints-kevin-cronin-regional-executive-for-the-americas-president--ceo-of-mufg-americas-holdings-corporation-and-mufg-union-bank-na-301225085.html'tc=eml_cleartime">announced</a>.&nbsp;Cronin has spent nearly a decade at the firm<strong>, </strong>most recently as head of the corporate and investment bank in the Americas.</li><li><strong>Jeremy Balkin,</strong> <strong>HSBC's</strong> head of innovation for the firm's US business, has left the firm, Insider has learned. Balkin helped launch the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/inside-the-hsbc-branch-on-new-york-citys-tony-fifth-avenue-where-pepper-the-robot-cracks-jokes-and-gives-directions-to-the-nearest-pizza-shop-2018-6">Softbank-created banker robot Pepper</a> in select HSBC branches in 2019.</li><li>Meanwhile,<strong>&nbsp;Daniel Klier, HSBC's</strong> head of sustainable finance, will become the president of sustainable investment advisory firm <strong>The</strong> <strong>Arabesque Group </strong>effective in June, the firm <a href="https://www.arabesque.com/2021/02/12/daniel-klier-to-join-arabesque-as-new-ceo-of-s-ray-and-president-of-the-arabesque-group/">announced</a>. Klier will also become the CEO of Arabesque S-Ray<strong>,</strong> the firm's quantitative, ESG data provider business.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li><li>Multi-strategy fund <strong>Verition</strong> has hired away <strong>Stan Liberman</strong> from <strong>Centiva Capital</strong>, according to Hedge Fund Alert. Liberman has a 20-year background in managing credit strategies.</li><li><strong>Wells Fargo&nbsp;</strong>is adding legal firepower as it brings on top lawyers from three of the bank's largest competitors, <a href="https://news.bloomberglaw.com/banking-law/wells-fargo-raids-financial-services-rivals-for-legal-team-trio">per reporting at Bloomberg Law</a>. <strong>Bert Fuqua</strong> of <strong>Barclays</strong>, <strong>JPMorgan's George Thompson</strong>, and <strong>Tangela Richter</strong> of <strong>American Express</strong> are all joining Wells as deputy general counsel in charge of corporate and investment banking, consumer lending, and enterprise functions, respectively.</li><li><strong>Carolina Campbell</strong>, a former managing director and partner at <strong>Evercore ISI</strong> who oversaw the firm's investor relations team, <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/carolina-campbell-appointed-to-lead-context-family-network-301223376.html">will now be leading</a> the&nbsp;<strong>Context Family Network</strong>, a network of single-family offices.</li><li><strong>Bank of America's</strong> former co-head of healthcare investment banking in the Americas has a new role: <strong>Charlie Newton</strong> <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/lyell-immunopharma-appoints-charlie-newton-as-chief-financial-officer-301224438.html">is now the CFO</a> of <strong>Lyell Immunopharma</strong>, a biotech firm focused on developing cancer-related immunotherapies.</li><li><strong>Marcus Martin</strong>, formerly the CEO and founder of <strong>Global Oak Capital Markets</strong>, <a href="https://ir.usbank.com/news-releases/news-release-details/us-bank-appoints-marcus-martin-head-esg-fixed-income-capital">has joined</a> <strong>US Bank</strong> as a managing director and new head of ESG in fixed income and capital markets.</li><li><strong>Citi Private Bank</strong> has promoted longtime exec <strong>Kristen Bitterly Michell</strong> as its regional head of investments for North America. Bitterly Michell was formerly Citi Private Bank's head of capital markets, <a href="https://citywireamericas.com/news/citi-private-bank-unveils-top-investment-unit-appointment/a1464313'_ga=2.131563023.1458681175.1613147354-2101167467.1613147354">according to Citywire</a>.</li><li><strong>Jon Winkelried</strong>, former co-president of <strong>Goldman Sachs</strong> and current co-CEO of <strong>TPG</strong>, is joining the board of financial data startup <strong>MX</strong>, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/10/former-goldman-co-president-jon-winkelried-and-alphabet-venture-partner-join-fintech-start-up-mx.html">per reporting in CNBC</a>. He's joined by <strong>Mike Zappert</strong>, a parter from TPG, as well as <strong>Derek Zanutto</strong>, a general partner at <strong>CapitalG</strong>, <strong>Alphabet's</strong> growth venture fund.
