50 injured, including 2 British children, in deadly bus crash in Malta

Two people have died and 50 have been injured in a bus crash in Malta.The double-decker tourist bus hit a low-hanging tree branch.Six people have been hospitalised, including two British children aged six and eight.Three British touristsincluding two young children have been injured in a deadly bus crash in Malta.Two people have died and 50 were injured after an open-top double-decker tourist bus crashed into a low-hanging tree branch.A Spanish woman and a Belgian man were killed after the vehicle crashed in Zurrieq, in the south of the country.Local authorities said three Britons, including two boys aged six and eight, were among six people taken to hospital.Maltese Health Minister Chris Fearne said most of the passengers on board the bus hailed from Belgium or Britain.Zurrieq, a popular tourist destination just outside the capital Valletta,is famous for its ruins and "blue grotto".Of the 50injured, twelvewere children, including two critically-injured youngsters.Most of those who were injuredhad been sitting on the top deck.The 24-year-old bus driver was not hurt in the incident.Dramatic images from the scene showed the open-top bus in the road as emergency services surrounded the area.A Foreign Office spokesman told the Standard: "We are doing everything we can to support British citizens involved in the bus crash in Malta."Additional reporting by the Associated PressJoin the conversation about this storyNOW WATCH: This transgender activist and former Obama White House intern isn't backing down against Trump
