"But you'd hope with that many pans they'd make one light enough for lighter skin tones."TheBronze Sands 3D Highlighter Palette was created with the intentionto "give the most insane highlight on tanned and richer skin tones," according to Huda Beauty's website. Being mad that not every single one is for you says a lot," @scrAMBERedeggs wrote. This brand has two highlight palettes that work on lighter skin tones and one that works on darker skin tones. Both are in stock online at Sephora. pic.twitter.com/sA8F0g8st2' alex (@arwendell) February 10, 2018Some people thought that Leanne should have celebrated Huda Beauty's efforts to be inclusive, even if she didn't directly benefit from it.I could fill a dumpster with the amount of highlighter palettes that only people with light skin can use. It's okay for one product to not be for you.' excuse your mouth (@registeredhoe) February 10, 2018But why can't there be a whole palette for POC' Doesn't Huda have like 4 other highlight palettes that are lighter'' Jessica (@beautytrends24) February 11, 2018There are plenty of pallets out that cater to only white people. Poc deserve some specialized palettes too' Jessica Schwerdt (@jessicalschw) February 10, 2018And Twitteruser Angela Starnes pointed out that unless brands are catering to makeup artists, it's practical to sell shade-specific palettes.I think that's only useful if you're a working makeup artist! From my perspective, consumers would rather have a line of palettes in which each palette is catered towards a specific skin tone (light, medium, deep). There are plenty of highlighting palettes for light skin tones!' Angela Starnes (@angela_marie123) February 10, 2018Several people insinuated that Leanne was being hypocritical, as her collaboration palette with Urban Decay only seems to flatter light complexions.Uhhh baby girl you might wanna sit this one out because this was literally your collab with urban decay pic.twitter.com/uIXyNUfFnp' cherryfrie ' (@autumntvylor) February 10, 2018Your pallet doesn't even catter to deep skin tones. "Being misunderstood is a bummer. It would be cool if everyone knew everyone else's heart," she wrote.Being misunderstood is a bummer. It would be cool if everyone knew everyone else's heart. Goodnight '' Kristen Leanne (@KristenxLeanne) February 10, 2018Leanne's fans came to her defense during the controversy."As a fan of @KristenxLeanne I know what she's saying - they should've been swatched on more darker skin tones which is what the palette is made for to show how it's meant for men and women of [color]!! It's been a misinterpreted tweet!" @larxnxo tweeted. As a fan of @KristenxLeanne I know what she's saying - they should've been swatched on more darker skin tones which is what the palette is made for to show how it's meant for men and women of colour!! Kristen said why show it on white skin because it doesn't work. That's it, it's advertised on light skin' Michelle Consterdine (@LushCookies1) February 10, 2018But people fired back at Leanne, claiming that they understood her comments. What's being misunderstood' that's exactly what you said, don't delete because screenshots are forever ''' abby'' (@hearne__) February 10, 2018Misunderstood' You were mad bcs 1 thing wasn't 'for you.''
