Kenyan husband and wife duo Paul Lonyangata and PurityRionoripo won the men's and women's races, respectively, at the 2017 Paris Marathon on Sunday.Lonyangata set a personal best of two hours, six minutes and 10 seconds as he finished ahead of one of the favourites, Stephen Chebogout, by 46 seconds in sunny conditions in the French capital. The marathon's official Twitter feed shared the results, with Solomon Yego rounding out the podium:Lonyangatashowed his pedigree as he pulled away from Chebogout with around four miles remaining to secure the win ahead of his compatriot, who had been leading the charge and had entered the race with the best PB in the field. The 24-year-old has now won three marathons, havingcome home first in the Lisbon Marathon in 2013 and the Shanghai Marathon in 2015.Meanwhile,Rionoripo set a course record in the women's event:Agnes Barsosio finished second, while2014 champion Flomena Cheyech came third and the Ethiopian prevented another all-Kenyan podium after the men's event.Last year's winnerVisiline Jepkesho failed to make it a hat-trick of consecutive podium finishes.Per the Agence France-Presse (h/t Yahoo Sport), she said: "I'm so happy, it's a great day for me to win and to beat my personal best."In the men's wheelchair event, David Weir romped home to victory in under an hour and a half:The Scot will retire from the sport after the London Marathon on April 23. He has won the event five times, and while he was outstripped by Marcel Hug in last year's event, he looks in excellent shape after an impressive win in Paris.
