Masters Tournament 2017: Mobile Updates for Saturday Leaderboard Scores

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 08 Apr 2017

The 2017 Masters is delicately poised after the opening two rounds, with a four-way tie for the lead at the close of play on Friday.Charley Hoffmanwho led on Thursday after a sensational round of seven underfailed to replicate his early form and carded a 75.He heads into Saturday level at four under with Sergio Garcia, Thomas Pieters and Rickie Fowler, though that could all change on moving day, with the likes of Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy also harbouring ambitions of playing their way into contention. You can follow the live leaderboard here:Pieters is making his debut at Augusta, and his play thus far has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous, and back to the sublime again, as the European Tour demonstrated:The Belgian enjoyed an electric start on Thursday, before two bogeys and two double bogeys on his back nine took the gleam off his opening round.A bogey at the first on Friday threatened to continue his downward spiral, but the 25-year-old was able to regroup and rally to an excellent score, which included an eagle at the 13th.Pieters doesn't have the advantage of prior experience at the Masters on his side, but if he can avoid a collapse similar to Thursday's, he could well keep his hat in the ring heading into Sunday.McIlroy heads into moving day on one over, five shots behind Friday's leaders. The Northern Irishman has had a mixed tournament so far this yearalate flourish of birdies on Thursday cancelled out a shaky start and earned him 72, and despite two bogeys in his first three holes on Friday, he was soon under par when he holed out on the sixth, per the Masters:He dropped shots at the ninth and 12th before regaining one at the 17th andwas unfortunate not to end on a positive note, per ESPN's Jason Sobel:BBC Sport's Dan Walker believes he could still be in with a chance, however:McIlroy concurred, per Golf.com's Jeff Ritter: "I'm close enough. I knew anything around even par today was going to be decent. A little disappointed in what happened at the last there, but these things happen. If I can get off to a fast start tomorrow, a couple under through three, I'll be right there."The 27-year-oldis capable of fighting his way back into contention with a strong moving day, and it would set up a fascinating final day if he's able to.
