What Is Steve Bannon Hiding Under All Of Those Shirts

Published by Huffington Post on Fri, 07 Apr 2017

If layering is an art form, we wouldnt exactly call Steve Bannon a modern day Picasso.Donald Trumps embattled chief strategisthas a habit of layering multiple shirts on top of one another. And we dont mean something normal, like an undershirt and a sweater. We mean two button-down collared shirts. Over one another.Bannon, who was reportedly just pushed off the National Security Councilin part by the presidents son-in-law Jared Kushnerand may have even threatened to quit the White House, has been called out for this strange style habit, both on Twitter...when bannon threatened to quit, he tore off his 12 overlapping shirts 1 at a time, like a magician pulling out handkerchiefs tied together Brendan Karet (@bad_takes) April 6, 2017 Steve Bannon must get cold a lot. Why else would he wear a t-shirt, 2 collared shirts, a blazer, swim trunks, 3 pairs of boxers and chinos' Sean E. Sean (@SeanKullman) March 14, 2017 Bannon's just reached his limit. His barely contained anti-semitic rage about to burst through the seams of eight layers of untucked shirts Father Guido SarDShK (@ZeddRebel) April 6, 2017 Bannon must be popping the buttons on all 6 of the collard shirts he's wearing! https://t.co/UCdUHrSSVP Matthew Breen (@matbreen) March 27, 2017 Seems obvious to me that Steve Bannon wears a polo shirt under his button up shirt because he's a #nevernude #facts pic.twitter.com/JPVWvvrkTc Paul E (@PaulieMiked) April 6, 2017 ...and in horrified headlines:That got us wondering, though: Does anyone else actually do this'After a bit of digging and trying to wrap our minds around the whole thing, we did find at least one other iteration of this look: On J.Crews website, no less! For what its worth, even in its trendiest form, the whole buttoned shirt over a buttoned shirt still looks pretty ridiculous. Plus, the shirt from J.Crew is sherpa lined, more like a jacket-type garment and therefore slightly less offensive.Esquire expertly compared Bannons look to a famous scene fromFriends, in which Joey puts on all of Chandlers clothes. Heres hoping Bannon isnt also going commando, eh'The mag also assured its readers that this is not a trend they need to worry about adopting anytime soon. This is not something that anyone except for Steve Bannon does, they wrote.Fashion blogger Ryan Dziadul expressed a similar, if not slightly less judgmental sentiment. Im all for fashion experimentation, breaking the so-called rules, and wearing what you want to wear, he told The Huffington Post. But wearing two button-down shirts at the same time is just weird. It just seems souncomfortable, and not to mention time-consuming.Dziaduls advice to Bannon'If youre desperate to layer, add a scarf, he said. But then again, Steve Bannon doesnt seem like the kind of guy who minds weirding people out.All in all, the style just seems incredibly unnecessary, unless Bannon is hiding something under all those layers. Like, say, information about Russia'A dart board with Kushners face on it'Like many other things in the Trump administration, the world may never know the truth. Here's what we know about why Trump removed Bannon from his National Security Council https://t.co/2RLZj2SjdG pic.twitter.com/Oia6OtevEH Bloomberg Politics (@bpolitics) April 5, 2017 type=type=RelatedArticlesblockTitle=Related... + articlesList=58e5a8d1e4b0fe4ce0882c8c,58e50efbe4b0917d347605ca,588f4b90e4b0176377956409 -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms.
