Former WSU CB Treshon Broughton Tased, Arrested After Counterfeit Cash Incident

Former Washington State cornerback Treshon Broughton was arrested in Pullman, Washington, on Feb. 18 after attempting to use counterfeit cash at a liquor store.According to Chad Sokol of theSpokesman-Review, Broughton was tased and subdued by police after becoming confrontational with employees and allegedly resisting arrest.PerSokol, the arrest report stated that Broughton attempted to use a fake $20 bill in order to buy a lighter, which prompted the argument with employees.Once an officer arrived on the scene, Broughton reportedly resisted attempts to be restrained with handcuffs. The report went on to state a second officer arrived on the scene and ordered Broughton to comply.After further attempts to restrain him, Broughton allegedly grappled with officers after being taken to the ground, which resulted in the use of a taser after a warning.He was also reportedly uncooperative in his holding cell, which resulted in police placing him in a restraint chair.Broughton spent two seasons at Washington State after a stint in junior college. In 2016 as a senior, he registered 17 tackles and one interception.The California native was charged with resisting arrestand obstructing a law enforcement officer.
