Jurgen Klopp Says Liverpool Made Him 'Nearly Vomit' in Draw with Bournemouth

Published by Bleacher Report on Thu, 06 Apr 2017

Bournemouth's late equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday made Reds manager Jurgen Klopp "nearly vomit," as the hosts surrendered a 2-1 lead to drop two crucial points.Joshua King took advantage of some sloppy defending to fire home and make it 2-2 in the 87th minute, and Klopp bemoaned yet more problems from set pieces, per ESPN FC's Glenn Price: "We left it open and the second ball after a set piece. That made me actually nearly vomit. That's, of course, not nice, but we have to take it.It's my responsibilityall of thisand I have to be more clear in this situation, but I will find a solution for this."Liverpool had clawed their way back from 1-0 down and looked to be heading for a crucial three points in the race for the top four but yet again slipped up against one of the Premier League's smaller sides. The Reds have been superb this season against their top-six rivals, but they have lost against the likes of Hull City, Swansea City and Burnley.Bournemouth took four points off Liverpool from their two league meetings this season and scored six goals against them, per sports writer Tony Hodson:The Reds defence continues to be a problem. They have conceded 39 goals from 31 games in the Premier League in 2016-17, two more more than 19th-placed Middlesbroughand at least 15 more than Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. With United and Manchester City both having dropped points during Week 31, Liverpool could have given their top-four chances a huge boost with a win against the Cherries. They are still in third after the draw but remain in reach of City, United and Arsenal, who all have games in hand on the Merseyside outfit. For more news, rumours and related stories about Liverpool and the Premier League, check out the Premier League and Liverpool streamsonBleacher Report's app.
