Premier League Week 31 Fixtures: EPL TV Schedule, Live Stream and Picks

Published by Bleacher Report on Tue, 04 Apr 2017

The race for the Premier League title was rekindled as Chelsea suffered a shock defeat to Crystal Palace, and now the Blues must face the challenge of Manchester City during a full mid-week program in England.Tottenham Hotspur are now only seven points behind the leaders, and travel to Swansea City as they attempt to hunt manager Antonio Conte's west London team.Manchester United will be hoping Chelsea defeat City in their clash on Wednesday night. The Red Devils sit five points behind their fourth-placed neighbours and need to quickly bridge the gap as they seek UEFA Champions League football for next term.United welcome Everton to Old Trafford and would fall below the Toffees if they suffer a surprise loss. Here are the full fixtures from the Premier League, including TV and streaming details with score predictions:The matches can be streamed live viaBT Sport PlayerandNBC Sports Live.Chelsea vs. Manchester CityAs Conte's men cruised to the title, many believed the chase at the top was over, with Spurs unable to drift in the leaders' slipstream and catch their rivals. However, at the end of play during the mid-week schedule, the White Hart Lane side could be only four points behind the team from Stamford Bridge. The Blues will face one of their toughest home games of the season as City coach Pep Guardiola attempts to shatter Chelsea's confidence in the final weeks of the season.Palace defeated the league leaders at the Bridge last time around; a result no football fan expected considering the quality of the competition. But Conte was forced to concede the points, ripping up the script and re-energising the drama in English football.A victory for City would see Guardiola's unit close the gap between themselves and Chelsea to only eight points, putting the Blues under a specific pressure they have not felt this term.Chelsea hitman Diego Costa said his team-mates must not wallow in doubt, despite Palace's unbelievable result.According toSimon Johnsonof theLondon Evening Standard, the Spain international declared:Now is not the time to let ourselves down. We should keep our heads up and think ahead for the next game since it will be very important.A derby (against a big team) will always be an important game. After a loss at home and with a rival closing the gap this importance only grows. We know this game against Manchester City will be a six-point affair since if we win the game they will [practically] be out of the title race while we keep the advantage.City remain in the conversation for the title, but it is Spurs who will benefit most if Chelsea slip up for a second time at the Bridge. The Blues have shown no weaknesses this season, but now their resolve will be tested as they attempt to cross the finishing post.Prediction: 1-1 draw.Manchester United vs. EvertonUnited coach Jose Mourinho has watched his team appear much weaker in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been missing through suspension, but the mercurial striker returns as United continue to fight for a top-four berth. The Swedish icon has been a raging success since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, and he has quickly developed into Wayne Rooney's replacement as the club's most important player.Konstantinos Lianos of theDaily StarconfirmedIbrahimovic is available for selection once more, as Ander Herrera also finishes a two-game ban.The Spain international has developed into one of Mourinho's most important starters at the Theatre of Dreams, and his presence was missed as the team drew against West Bromwich Albion, dropping more points at home.Paul Pogba has stepped up his recovery in training after a hamstring injury kept him out of the West Brom game, per Lianos, but it is unknown whether he will be fit enough to face the Toffees.Prediction: 2-2 drawSwansea vs. SpursSpurs managerMauricio Pochettino has said he believes his men will not choke once more as they did at the end of last seasonwith the doors of the title race opening updown the home straight.Spurs only collected two points from their last four games of last season as their title challenge collapsed in dramatic fashion. As the Lilywhites travel to the Swans,Pochettino declared his team will not sink in a similar fashion, perTom Collomosseof theLondon Evening Standard:We talk a lot about last season. Football is about mentality and energy in your mind, not only in your body.In football it is important to learn from the good and bad experiences. It is about mentality, never giving up and concentrating until the end.We did not have a problem of physical condition but we switched off in our mind after Chelsea (where Spurs drew 2-2 on May 2, handing the title to Leicester). We lost our final two games against Southampton and Newcastle and lost second place to Arsenal.Spurs are the only side who can realistically overhaul Chelsea, but they must maintain perfection until the final week of the campaign. The team have missed the influence of Harry Kane since his latest injury, but if the striker can return to action quickly, he can provide the goals which will allowPochettino and supporters the chance to dream.Prediction: 2-1 Spurs win.
