Since the return of democracy in 1999, Nigerians have witnessed a mutually exclusive relationship between the Executive and the Legislature, such that great disruptions have been regularly wrought in the smooth administration of the country. This situation arose fundamentally from the power game by both arms of government, as to which is superior to the other, thus engendering mistrust and suspicion in carrying out their respective functions and obligations as enshrined in the Constitution.
