MAN cadets fret as 5,000 graduates are jobless

Rector seeks NIMASA's interventionUneasy calm has pervaded the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Akwa Ibom State, as its graduate cadets have been unable to secure jobs on board ships after training. Over 5,000 cadets trained by the academy lacked sea time experience. It was learnt that graduates of the 38-year old academy could not secure the Certificate of Competency (CoC), a mandatory requirement to secure job on board ship, for several years because of lack of vessels to train them.
