WWE WrestleMania 2017 Matches: Ranking Bouts Most Likely to Steal the Show

Published by Bleacher Report on Tue, 28 Mar 2017

The pressureWWE WrestleMania 33 brings will be too much for somebut there will be a number of matches at this Sunday's show that will steal the limelight for all the right reasons.A card once again sprinkled with part-time veterans leaves some trepidation about how much of a bang WrestleMania will go off withbut some matches will live up to the hype in Orlando, Florida. Here's a look at which leading boutscould steal the show and become the matches everyone is talking about come Monday morning.No. 3: Neville vs. Austin Aries (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)WWE has to ensure that Neville's title match against Austin Aries is not consigned to the pre-show.It has all the makings of being the cruiserweight division's best match in months, and this hot off the heels of Neville's impressive showing against fellow Englishman Jack Gallagher of late. But with Aries now firmly back in the ring and competing once again, the stakes have been raised even higher. Can Aries dethrone the self-dubbed "King of the Cruiserweights"' Even if he doesn't, it's a match that has all the makings of something really special. Both men can work and perform, without a shadow of a doubt. The backdrop of WrestleMania should bring the best out of them and their rivalry to deliver a high-energy, non-stop mat classic.No. 2: Shane McMahon vs. AJ StylesWait' Two guys in or near their 40sincluding one who barely competeshas the potential to be WrestleMania's best match'Without a doubt.Styles can bring the best out of absolutely anyone, even someone like Shane McMahon, whose last one-on-one match was exactly 12 months ago. There will be a huge spotShane McMahon matches are generally not complete without a death-defying leap of some kindbut this bout will have so much more to it.There's been plenty of dismay at Styles' plans for Mania this year, but this feudwhich admittedly has been put together on quite short noticehas been one of the most intense and surprisingly enjoyable rivalries of all the ones heading into WrestleMania.Shane's aggression countered with Styles' heel character is the perfect blend for some WrestleMania magic. A Styles winwhich is definitely the right resultwill catapult him back into the world title picture. He'll do so off the back of a greatand perhaps unexpectedWrestleMania match.No. 1: Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia JaxThe rip-roaring reputationWWE's female wrestlers are crafting right now won't show any signs of slowing down at WrestleMania.SmackDown's women will put on a stirring show for the blue brand's titlethat much is a given. There may even be a surprise or two thereparticularly if someone like Naomi can be fit in time. But it's the Raw match which is the one that will leave fans talking about the great steps women's wrestling has taken. The subplots in and around the match are fascinating enough. Will Dana Brooke interfere and cost Charlotte Flair' When will Sasha's heel turn on Bayley come' Can Nia Jax assert her authority as the most dominant woman in WWE'Then there's Bayley. It may have come as a bit of a surprise to some that WWE pulled the trigger on her winning the title so earlyperhaps that moment may have been best saved for WrestleMania itself. But no matter who wins, the match will be incredible. Charlotte's athleticism will raise the stakes. Banks' energy will only further intensify that. The match has the perfect blend of competitorsdon't expect them to disappoint.
