Eva Marie's Contract with WWE Reportedly Will Not Be Renewed

Published by Bleacher Report on Tue, 28 Mar 2017

WWE won't renew Eva Marie's contract when it expires, Wrestling Inc's Raj Giri reported Monday.Eva Marie hasn't wrestled since August 2016, when the company suspended her for 30 days following a wellness violation.Given her prolonged absence on WWE programming, an official announcement about her release wouldn't come as a huge surprise. In addition, the women's division hasn't suffered with her out of the picture. Since Eva Marie's suspension, the company has added Bayley, Nikki Bella and Mickie James, with Asuka a near certainly to join to the main roster before too long as well.Still, it's unfortunate to see Eva Marie leaving after she finally found her groove in the ring. The 32-year-old was one of NXT's top heels in 2015 and early 2016, forming a perfect partnership with Nia Jax. Nia was the muscle, and Eva Marie was guaranteed to garner a heated reaction from the Full Sail crowd:Following the brand extension last July, Eva Marie joined SmackDown Live, where her self-congratulatory entrance made her stand out:Prior to her suspension, Eva Marie was locked in a feud with Becky Lynch. She tried every trick in the book to avoid the Irish Lass Kicker, including feigning injury on the Aug. 2 edition of SmackDown:According to theInternet Wrestling Database, Eva Marie compiled a 29-27 record with five draws since joining WWE in 2013.
