Manchester City Transfer News: Milan Deny Gianluigi Donnarumma Sale, Top Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 25 Mar 2017

Manchester City's proposed world-record bid for Italy goalkeeperGianluigi Donnarumma could fall on deaf ears after ACMilan president Silvio Berlusconi said he plans to retain the outstanding prospect. The Sky Blues are searching for Joe Hart's long-term heir, with rumours of a 130 million offer in the pipeline for the teenager, who is destined to become one of the greatest No. 1's on the planet.According to Italian newspaperLa Verita(h/tGoal), the San Siro supremo said the 18-year-old isnot for sale under any circumstances after news of manager Pep Guardiola's intended offer."Gigio is one of Milan's jewels," saidBerlusconi."He's a gorgeous product of our youth system, he feels strong attachment in his heart to the jersey and the Rossoneri colours. For us he's completely off the market."The player has also moved to express his dedication to coachVincenzo Montella's side, but he said he will leave transfer matters to his agent, according to Sky Sport Italia (h/tJoe Shortof theExpress).Short highlighted the 'keeper is represented byMino Raiola, who negotiated Paul Pogba's world-record transfer to Manchester United. The Red Devils are also said to be monitoring the young talent. The goalkeeping prodigy has achieved 10 clean sheets in 29 Serie A appearances this term, according toSquawka.com.Here is the Milan starlet in action:Hart's exit from the Etihad Stadium is expected in the summer, and the England international has not ruled out a further 12-month stay at loan club Torino.David Woodsof theDaily Star reported Hart could be tempted to remain in Italy after a productive season in Serie A:Of course it wouldnt be a catastrophe, in no way, shape or form [to stay at Torino].Its a strong league, its first team football. Id like to think Id be able to be happy anywhere. At the moment, thats my life, thats where Im at and Im going to make the most of it, no matter where I am.Ive enjoyed being out there, enjoyed being part of a great football club, a great city, meeting new people, being involved in different situations. At 29, Hart has plenty of mileage left in the tank, and his career in Europe's top divisions is certainly not over. However, Guardiola is looking to the future, and a player like Donnarumma fits his mandate at Eastlands. The young Italian is destined to beGianluigi Buffon's successor for Italy, and if he is not purchased by another side in the summer, his valuation could further explode.Donnarumma has the potential to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of all-time, and City should move aggressively to capture him.If David De Gea leaves Old Trafford at the end of the season, per Short, City might struggle to temptDonnarumma in a bidding war, especially with his agent's links to their Manchester neighbours.
