Okorocha/Iheanacho Face-off: Court Orders IGP To Arrest 7 Govt Officials

Irked by the continued refusal of some officials of the Imo State government to appear before it on charges of contempt of court, the Owerri judicial division of the Federal High Court, yesterday, directed the Inspector General of Police, Commissioners of police in all the 36 states of the federation and the Nigeria police in general to arrest the erring officials wherever they are without delay.The affected officials are: the state commissioner for works, housing and transport, Mrs. Josephine Udoji, the director (civil) in the ministry, C E Egbuka and permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Chibuzor Iwuagwu, the head of department (works) government house Owerri, Architect Emeka Duru, the general manager of the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA)Chidiebere Nwogu as well as the commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban PlanningChief Law Eburuo.This is even as counsel to the state government, J C Ibe, an assistant director (civil litigation), state ministry of justice had argued that the state government had already filed an appeal which had been properly entered
