Mick Foley was fired by Stephanie McMahon on the March 20 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. The firing came as no surprise for many fans, who expected the Hardcore Legend to eventually step out of his role as Raw General Manager. He and Stephanie are just too different, and it was indeed an odd pairing from the beginning. But the question of what will happen on Raw now is certainly being asked. As the sole authority figure on Monday nights, Stephanie will have full control with no interference from any babyface. Foley won't be there to keep her in check, which means the fans will no longer have a voice. It's happened before of course, as WWE has been determined to keep a heel on top more often than not. Despite how much it defies logic to feature a power mad McMahon on TV in 2017, WWE insists on doing it. The company is publicly traded, does great charity work, and has become a major force in pop culture. The boss' daughter doesn't necessarily need to be a character on TV, but that's exactly what she is.The problem is it's the same tired routine. The Initial ImpactStephanie will indeed have no one to keep her grounded now. She will be free to wield her authority over everyone on Raw, which means no babyface is safe. The first time one of them stands up to her, he or she will be dealt with.In theory, the idea is fine. A top heel calling the shots creates drama and intrigue for the program. The faces are forced to work from behind and fight the odds to get fair treatment. Fans rally behind them, and hopefully the heels get what they deserve in the process. The problem is Stephanie rarely ever gets her comeuppance. That means the short-term prognosis for Raw is bleak. Just as Stephanie continues to mock Daniel Bryan's "Yes" chants, she will now surely mock Foley every Monday night. He may be gone from TV, he may return at some point, but no matter what happens she will have the last laugh. The partnership between Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe, which is very compelling on its own, will likely now have an even bigger endorsement from Stephanie. Joe in particular will surely be used to carry out her dirty work, doing her bidding whenever she needs him.He will be the hired muscle, with Stephanie pulling the strings. The women of Raw will also be directly affected, as Foley's friend Bayley was thrust into a No Disqualification match with Nia Jax. Jax won the bout, making the Raw Women's Championship match a Fatal 4-Way at WrestleMania 33.Stephanie's position as the Alpha female of Raw cannot be challenged, and she will step over any woman who gets in her way.The curious part for many is there's no payoff. Unless Stephanie works a match at some point, getting heat on anyone is pointless. It's all about getting Stephanie over, and that's been happening since the days of The Authority. The Unofficial Authority ReunionTriple H's presence on Monday nights could signal the eventual return of The Authority. The faction still exists but is not officially referred to on TV. That could change soon. The Game, along with Stephanie, Samoa Joe, and Kevin Owens, would rule Monday Night Raw. KO and Joe already have the full support of WWE corporate, and they would have the Authority gimmick to go along with it.Considering The Authority's influence over the entire program, every babyface would be in danger.Stephanie would likely be the face of the faction this time, as Triple H has his hands full with Seth Rollins. That means she would continue to abuse her power like never before, making life impossible for anyone who defies her.Every WWE Superstar who has ever stood up to The Authority has lost, and that would likely not change now.Unfortunately it's all too predictable. There's a formula for Monday Night Raw, and Stephanie is a huge part of it. Her character is untouchable; she has unchecked power and always comes out on top.She makes unfair decisions and humiliates others whenever she wants. She does the same thing every week, and that would be magnified if The Authority were once again an official entity. With The Authority on top, Stephanie would have nearly unlimited power.WrestleMania 33 is on the horizon of course, and whether or not The Authority is together again on April 2 may be irrelevant. The only things that matter are how WWE will handle Raw's power structure and what it will mean moving forward. The New Raw GMAt some point, a new Raw general manager will be announced. The likelihood of a babyface being placed in the role is probably slim, so a heel will be needed to stand by Stephanie's side. That heel could be Kurt Angle. Angle and Stephanie have a history, and WWE would surely want Angle back in the fold every week on TV.The former WWE champion will be inducted into the Hall of Fame before WrestleMania, and though his popularity says otherwise, he could come back to TV as a heel. He's more than capable of filling the GM role and would be a great addition to Monday Night Raw.But the issue of WWE's tired corporate routine would still be alive and well. There may be no chance for any sort of parity on Raw now. From a logical standpoint, Stephanie would never hire someone she couldn't control or did not share her way of thinking. That likely eliminates half the locker room for Raw and SmackDown Live. The only thing fans can hope for is WWE chooses an entertaining heel, someone that is able to generate heat yet still give the crowd something to cheer for.Paul Heyman may be the ideal choice for the spot.Heyman is a master on the mic; the crowd can relate to him, and he's extremely entertaining. He could be exactly what Raw needs and would complement Stephanie in every way. It may not be a new idea, but it would certainly be a fresh one.Of course, it all goes back to the booking. As long as WWE insists on booking Stephanie on TV, and as long as she is written into the storylines, then nothing will change. Fans will continue to get the same routine every week on Raw, and no one will have the opportunity to get over on her.The fans, however, are likely getting over her.Tom Clark can regularly be seen on Bleacher Report.
