Barcelona Transfer News: Antoine Griezmann, Paulo Dybala, Paco Alcacer Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Tue, 21 Mar 2017

Barcelona will reportedly look to sign either Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid or Juventus starlet Paulo Dybala this summer as they seek to add depth to their attacking options. That's according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Tom Bodell of Sky Sports), who have stated the club want to bring in another world-class forward. Theyadded that if either player was to come in at the Camp Nou, it would spell the end for Paco Alcacer, who has struggled to provide quality support to the trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. Here's a look at howMundo Deportivocovered the story, per the Catalan Edition Twitter account:If either were to join Barcelona, they'd face a fight to make it into the first team on a regular basis because of the attacking options available. Here's a look at how Dybala and Griezmann fare in comparison to Messi, Neymar and Suarez so far in league matches this season:Nevertheless, Griezmann and Dybala are both players with the potential to make an impact at any football club in the world. The Atletico man has been scintillating in La Liga for a long time. Since moving to the capital to work under Diego Simeone, he's refined his game superbly, making clever decisions in possession, working hard off the ball and finding a consistent level of performance.Still, Griezmann is a player who can take your breath away. The Frenchman is precise with his left foot, able to finish chances delicately or hammer shots beyond the goalkeeper. With seven assists to complement his 14 goals in La Liga in 2016-17, he's adding a creative side to his game, too.At the moment, it's difficult to think of a player in better form than Griezmann in La Liga. David Cartlidge of beIN Sports commented on his talismanic influence at the Vicente Calderon:But with a move to a new stadium to come for the Madrid side and Griezmann insisting to L'Equipe (h/t Nick Lustig of Sky Sports) that he has "no intention of leaving" Atletico, it'd be no surprise if the 26-year-old stayed put for the time being.Dybala is said to be another option for Barcelona. The Argentina man, known as La Joya, has dazzled in Turin since joining from Palermo in 2015, showcasing the potential to become one of the best forwards in the game.Indeed, it's no surprise that his low centre of gravity, tremendous left foot and quick feet have led to comparisons with his compatriot Messi in the past. Dybala is very much his own man, though, and has the explosiveness to enrich any team.As OptaPaolo noted after Dybala netted against Porto in the UEFA Champions League recently, as well as being a smart dribbler and an ace sharpshooter, he's a calm head from the penalty spot:Alcacer seemed destined to struggle from the start at Barcelona. Not only was he going to be deputising for the attacking trio, but stylistically, he's not a natural fit for the Blaugrana. The Spain international is a penalty-box player who sniffed out chances at his best for Valencia, not a forward who will drop off and get involved in the play.Griezmann and Dybala are more in line with the classic Barcelona mantras, although given they're both key men at other European behemoths, the Blaugrana would be looking at a world-record fee to sign either.
