BREAKING: Issa Hayatou Out, Ahmad Ahmad In As new CAF President

Madagascars Ahmad Ahmad has won the CAF Presidential elections, defeating Cameroons Issa Hayatou who has been in power since 1988 (29 years). Ahmad won the election 34 to Hayatous 20.For nearly 30 years, Cameroonian, Issa Hayatou, has been the head of the Confederation of African Football and a top FIFA executive.Today at the general assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Hayatou faced a tough election challenge in his attempt for an 8th term in office.His only opponent, Ahmad Ahmad, the head of Madagascan Football Association, Has emerged the new leader of African footballfor the first time since the late 1980s.Hayatous defeat in the vote of CAFs full member countries would not only remove him as president in Africa but also as a FIFA vice president and a member of its ruling council.
