We Didnt Raid Owerri PrisonPolice

Published by Leadership on Thu, 02 Feb 2017

The Imo State Police Command has debunked the report, Vampire Escape: Police Raid Prison, Recover 264 Mobile Phones, published in one of the national dailies (not LEADERSHIP).The Command, however, stated that the report published on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 was malicious and frivolous, adding that no such raid was carried out by the command at Owerri prisons, as written.Meanwhile, the command had said that the report written by the three writers stated that: As security agencies trade words over the sensational escape of alleged dreaded Chibueze Henry (a.k.a. Vampire),the State Police Command weekend raided the Owerri prisons and recovered mobile phones from the prison in-mates.The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Enwerem, in a release on Wednesday stressed that Police command had been working in tandem with the Owerri prisons authorities to ensure the re-arrest of the fleeing suspects.According to DSP Enwerem, It is pertinent to let the general public know that full investigation is being carried out to detect and arrest those who perpetrated the escape of the criminals and ascertain whether or not there was internal connivance with those in-charge of the fleeing suspects. The command, therefore, urged the general public to disregard the publication, which it also described as misleading and witch-hunting.
