Niger To Name Tertiary Institution After The Late Kure

Niger State House of Assembly has resolved to name one of the three higher institutions of learning in the state after late former governor of the state, Engr. Abdulkadir Kure who died in a German Hospital last month as a way of immortalising him.The resolution of the house was sequel to the motion by the member representing Lapai constituency, Hon Adamu Hassan Abugi calling on the state government to immortalize the late former governor.Hon Abugi while rationalizing the need to immortalize the late former governor, stated that as a governor, late Kure established the state owned IBB University in Lapai, constructed rural feeder roads, embarked on massive rural electrifications and started pilgrims air lift from Minna among other laudable achievements.He stated that the late former governor believed in human capitaldevelopment and was very humane, respect people as well as generous which made him a role model to many hence everything he did was with fear of God.The house in deliberating on the motion agreed that any of the state College of Agriculture Mokwa, College of Education Minna, and Niger State Polytechnic Zungeru should be named after the late Engr.
