Igbo Will Be President After PMBs TermOkorocha

Published by Leadership on Tue, 31 Jan 2017

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has said the South East will produce Nigerias president after the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.Okorocha disclosed this to State House Correspondents yesterday after a visit to the acting president, Yemi Osinbajo alongside the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara at the Presidential Villa.LEADERSHIP recall sthat when the leadership of the Ogun State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria paid former President, Olusegun Obasanjo a courtesy visit, he had said the South East should have a shot at the Presidency in 2019.According to OkorochaWhat I do know is that Ndiigbo should talk about presidency after President Muhammadu Buhari. I think we should support this government. President Buhari has a tenure to work for, Four years or Eight years. According to the zoning arrangement and everybody should follow the zoning although I am not an advocate of zoning. The governor said the All Progressives Congress ( APC) is trying to rebuild in the south east and redefine its leadership to have a clear identity in the region .He added The APC as a party is strong in the South East. We are trying to rebuild the party and redefine leadership so there will be no confusion. As to whether the APC in the South East is in disarray as the case has always been, we want to have a united party in the south east.He also reiterated his earlier stance that two governors in the South East have perfected plans to defect to the APC despite denials from some of the governors in the region. We are hopeful from all discussions that about two governors will be joining us in the south East to strengthen the party. Right now, we have agreed that Sen Ken Nnamani should take a lead of the party in the south east to enable us have a common understanding, long with other leaders like Chief Jim Nwobodo.Asked on the denial that three governors in the east will join APC,he said :I dont think it is true, but if it is true it is probably because it is not time. It could be because I spoke when they were not yet ready.Leadership is not in question, we have agreed the Ken Nnamdi should lead. So, it is not about Rochas Okorocha, I am a governor, he said.
