European stocks are slipping ahead of Trump's inauguration, with all but one major bourse in negative territory early on Friday. Losses so far are limited, with Britain's FTSE 100 down by just 0.045% to 7,204 points as of 8.15 a.m. GMT (3.15 a.m. ET). Across the channel, Germany's DAX is down by 0.34%, while France's CAC has slipped by 0.32%. Italy's FTSE MIB is the only winner so far, gaining 0.05%.
