Katsina Police Launch Re-branded Complaint Rapid Response Unit

The police in Katsina on Thursday flagged off Change Begins With Me campaign and distribution of re-branded Public Complaint Rapid Response (PCRRU) flyers produced in five major languages.The commissioner of Police in Katsina, Usman Abdullahi, who spoke during the campaign at the state command headquarters, while launching the flyers detailing the anti-graft agenda of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, said the exercise is meant for the benefits of Nigerians and to make the force more accessible to members of the public.He told the guests, police officers and men: keying into the IGPs laudable steps for the public to appreciate the need to continue to cooperate and support the force throughout the country in carrying out its constitutional duties and other tasks associated with the protection of life and property, the Katsina State command today launches the PCRRU flyers to take the message of the force closer to the populace.CP Abcullahi said the PCRU is a unit in the force saddled with the responsibility of receiving and resolving complaints on professional misconduct emanating from policing activities and operations nationwide.It is available and accessible 24/7 to receive complaints of members of the public. Seven different platforms have been provided by the unit, and inscribed on the flyers through which the members of the public can reach the units, he explained.The commissioner also expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their timely and useful pieces of information that have led to so many successes in the command.In a goodwill message, the state chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Mannir Atiku Lamido, lauded the police for the peace in the seven local government areas in the state that were hitherto a battle ground in the fight against cattle rustlers.
