There are still about two months until the 2016-17 NBA trade deadline, but rumors are starting to heat up as teams locate potential targets. With more than the first quarter of the season completed, organizations are well aware of where they need help on the court. The next step is to identify the teams that are out of contention and willing to part with quality players for draft picks or cap space.Although actual trades might take some time to complete, the latest rumors could lead to some interesting moves in the coming weeks.Celtics Pursuing BogutThe Boston Celtics are seemingly always involved in rumors for big names. Although the latest buzz doesn't feature a superstar, it does include someone who could help the team contend in the Eastern Conference.According to CSN New England, the "Celtics areexpected to take a close look at adding a defensive-minded, rebounding big man with Dallas Andrew Bogut likely to emerge as a target."Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reported that while the Dallas Mavericks don't want to trade the center yet, they "could become motivated to move him" in exchange for a first-round draft pick once they fall out of contention.Dallas (4-17) has the worst record in the Western Conference. The Celtics will have to wait for Bogut to get healthyhe is out with a knee injurybut when healthy, he could be a valuable addition for the second half of the season and the playoffs.Bogut doesn't provide much on the offensive end, but he represents much-needed depth in the frontcourt. He is especially valuable as a rim-protector, averaging 1.6 blocks per game over the course of his career.Per Basketball Reference, he also had the lowest defensive rating on the Golden State Warriors last season, a team that won 73 games. His ability and playoff experience would be valuable for a Celtics team that is trying to catch up to the top teams in the conference. With plenty of assets to make a deal, Boston can be aggressive before the trade deadline to upgrade the roster.Destination Found for Noel'There is no question the Philadelphia 76ers have to get rid of one of their young centers."Everybody understands it is a little bit awkward," head coach Brett Brown said, per Marc Narducci of the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Everybody understands there is some level of a logjam at the position. We all get it, we all talk freely about it."Joel Embiid is finally playing and living up to expectations. Jahlil Okafor has also performed well, which leaves the still-injured Nerlens Noel as the odd man out. This is especially an easy call with Noel set to be a free agent at the end of the season.Adrian Wojnarowskiof The Vertical reported back in September the team's intention to trade Noel, but suitors are finally emerging. According to Sam Amico of Amico Hoops, the Portland Trail Blazers are one of several teams interested in the center. This would be a perfect fit between a team that is trying to clear a logjam and another in desperate need of a defensive-minded center. The Trail Blazers have been one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA this season with only Mason Plumlee really providing much help on that end of the court.Meanwhile, Noel has proved to be a quality defender when healthy, averaging over 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game in each of his two years. He is also averaging 8.1 rebounds per game in his career, which would be a big help for Portland.Considering he is still just 22 years old with only two seasons under his belt, Noel has a lot of room to grow on both ends of the court and could potentially be a big-time player in the low post. The price tag will likely have dropped after he has been on the market for so long, which makes this the ideal time for the Blazers to swoop in and make a deal. Magic Looking for OffenseThe Orlando Magic have been among the worst scoring teams in the NBA this season, averaging just 94.3 points per game. With the squad still hoping to contend, finding someone to turn this around will be a priority in the coming weeks.According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic "will sift through the trade market in an effort to add a scorer."This might be tough to find, especially without losing one of their young prospects. Robbins believes the best assets will be those with expiring contracts for teams that are hoping to clear some cap space.Orlando could also possibly move Nikola Vucevic after he has fallen out of the starting lineup, although he has put together strong numbers off the bench (14.3 PPG, 11.7 RPG over the last 10 games) in the past couple of weeks. As for players to target, this could be another challenging task. One possible option is Monta Ellis, a guard who has been a volume scorer in the past and has experience with Magic coach Frank Vogel.Steve Kylerof Basketball Insiders noted the Pacers would be "open to moving" Ellis and speculated the Magic as a possible destination.Indiana (11-11) isn't quite bad enough to give up on the season and trade away a starter, but the price probably wouldn't be too high if Orlando is able to make a move.Lou Williams of the Los Angeles Lakers could also be a potential option for the Magic as they try to upgrade the offense.
