Bayelsa Govt Approve Construction Of Senate Auditorium Buildings For NDU, 3 Others

The state executive council of the Bayelsa State Government has on Friday announced the approval for the construction of Senate and Auditorium buildings for four state owned Higher Institution of Learning including the Niger Delta University (NDU), Ammassoma in Southern Ijaw local government area of the state.According to the approval, the benefiting institutions includethe College of Education, Sagbama and the BYCAS School of Nursing, Tombia and School of Health Technology, Otuogidi Ogbia and the recently established University of Africa.The state commissioners of education, Deacon Markson Fefegha and its Information and Orientation counterpart, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, made this known while announcing the decisions reached at the 68th session of the State Executive Council meeting held at the State Government House and Chaired by the state governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson on Thursday evening.According to the State Education Commissioner, Markson Fefegha, In the Ministry of Education one of the decision that was reached was that we should step aside special intervention for the Ministry of Education so that it could upgrade existing facilities in our tertiary institutions. The approval for the upgrading of building or construction of senate building at NDU stood out because the Governor has given out assurance to NDU even when we are negotiating to end their strike at that time and today it has become a reality.At the same time a thing of Ministry of Works and special project would go to NDU and commence the construction of the projects. Also auditoriums to be build in Niger Delta University with capacity of 1500 sitting capacity and 1000 sitting capacity of the University of Africa which will be established every other institution as time goes on would receive the interventions of at then this goes to show how robust and how open hearted the Governor is who is leading this administrationCommissioner Fefegha commended the State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson for the decision of the present administration to intervene in the education sector, I want to thank you for coming and want the public to support this administration especially in education sector because the Governor is very committed to improving the standards of educationAnd we are always said that in 5 years from now we would be looking for who will attend school, we are building schools everywhere the modern schools would be completed and in January the modern school would commence in terms of boarding and also same January 2017 we are commencing classes for the foundation classes of the University of Africa at Kayama.
