Atiku is behind my travailsEmbattled ChairThe leadership crisis bedevilling the the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) took a dramatic twist even as a faction inaugurated a 15 member national caretaker committee with membership drawn from the six geopolitical zones of the countryThe Caretaker Committee which has Hon. Munir Garba Waziri and Hon. Ifeanyi Igwe as chairman and secretary respectively also called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to commence investigations into the conduct of the sacked national chairman, Alh Bashir Yusuf Ibrahim.The embattled chairman, Alh Bashir Ibrahim however blamed the issues bedevilling the party on former Vice President Atiku Abibakar, saying that it was his desire to become president is the reason he is deploying his asernals against the party.In the communique issued by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party and read to journalists by its Secretary, Ifeanyi Igwe, in Abuja yesterday, the party said these moves were efforts to save the dying situation of the party and position it strategically with its contemporaries ahead of the 2019 general elections.The communique stated: that it becomes impracticable and expedient to save the dying situation of the party at the national level, NEC has immediately dissolved all the nationall principal officers of the party currently occupying the office for their compromise on the oath they subscribe to promote the partythat the NEC has further directed the National Caretaker Committee to petition the office of the Inspector General of Nigeria Police to commence investigation into the conduct of dissolved National Chairman of the party in the person of Alh. Bashir Yusuf Ibrahim.In a telephone interview, the embattled chairman said So I know that he (Atiku) is the one that behind this thing and he also want to become president by all means otherwise why the problem. I am also tired of being the chairman of PDM, if he had asked me and I would have given the party to him, knowing that he is going to make it a bigger party.But since he is trying to use tactics to take it over. You know he is a business man I going to give a run for his money. I have nothing to lose because I dont need PDM, I am not going to run for election, I am using money to run the party but he needs it to run an election and if he wants crisis I will give it to him. Yes he is the one factionalizing it and like I said he is the one who needs the party to be stable so that he can realize his ambition. If he want to factionalize it good luck to him.
