Ondo: PMB Rallies Support For Akeredolu

President Mohammadu Buhari has appealed to the people of Ondo State to vote massively for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) come November 26 governorship election for the betterment of the state.Buhari who spoke at the grand finale rally of the governorship candidate of the party, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) in Akure, the Ondo state capital on Saturday, assured the people that the party will form the next government in the state come February 24, 2017.The rally had in attendance some dignitaries which included the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, the deputy speaker of the House of Representative, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, chairman, Progressive Governor Forum and Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, chairman, National Campaign Committee, Gov Solomon Lalong, Borno State governor, Kashim Shetima, Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun and Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abubakar, and the national chairman of the party, John Odigie Oyegun.Others are Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, Kano State governor Ganduje, Nasarawa State governor, Tanko Almakura, former Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, minister for Information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, minister for Health, Prof Adewole Isaac, minister for Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi, chief Segun Oni, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, and Sen. Tayo Alasoadura among others.While presenting the candidate, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu to the public, President Muhammadu Buhari appealed to the people to make up their mind by voting for the candidate of the party in the gubernatorial election. The president said, Keeping yourselves under this scorching sun shows that you are disciplined and am very proud of my party the way it conducted the last primary election. People of Ondo State, make up your minds, tell your people to vote for the candidate of the party come November 26, we are going to win, God willing.Addressing the crowd earlier, Senate President, Bukola Saraki urged the people of the state to vote for APC in the coming election so as to join the mainstream politics of the country. Saraki who further said there are a lot of benefits in voting for Akeredolu, urged the electorate not to be deceived by other political parties.According to him, Look at all the candidate, is it about quality, capacity, maturity and the rest. So, I am also from Owo and Akure people should allow us to do it this time around. Come November 26, go out and make sure you vote for Akeredolu and also tell your neighbours.Also, speaking at the rally, the chairman, APC Governors Forum, Mr Rochas Okorocha, said all the governors of the party were behind the candidate of the party, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu. Okorocha said, Ondo State must join the progressives states in Nigeria, therefore we must vote for him and he will win the election. Akeredolu rejected federal appointments because he loves you people. He wants to serve you, so vote for him.In his welcome address, the state chairman of the party, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke said the present challenges facing the country was created by the last administration of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). He assured the president and the national leaders of the party that the state would join the progressive fold after the November 26, governorship election.However, the national leader of the party, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other South-west leaders of the party again snubbed the rally. The governors of Lagos, Oyo and Osun States, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Mr. Rauf Aregbosola respectively and the first runner up at the September 3 primary election of the party, Dr. Segun Abraham were conspicuously absent at the rally.
