Tottenham Transfer News: Latest on Harry Kane Amid Contract Dispute Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 19 Nov 2016

Manchester United are reportedly stepping up their efforts to recruit Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane amid rumours the England international could leave White Hart Lane over a wage dispute.John Cross of theMirror reported the Red Devils are keen on securing Kane's services as he seeks a new bumper deal with Spurs, where he's looking to earn wages "in excess of 100,000 a week."United manager Jose Mourinho will have Zlatan Ibrahimovic's future at Old Trafford in the back of his mind, with the Swede having only signed a one-year deal with the Red Devils upon joining the club this past summer.Kane earns 60,000 a week with his north London employers, while Hugo Lloris is also said to be searching for a salary hike, although manager Mauricio Pochettino has remained calm on the matter, per Sky Sports News HQ:United's apparent interest in the England frontman does raise the question as to what plans Mourinho has in store for youngster Marcus Rashford, who is seen as the striker alternative to Ibrahimovic in the lineup.Bleacher Report UK's Dean Jones recently analysed the prospect of Kane making the move to Old Trafford next year, where he noted the fact Kane wouldn't force a transfer as a major factor in the affair:That could prove a stumbling block for United in the transfer market considering Kane's contract won'texpire until the end of the 2019-20 season, meaning they could face a big task in landing his signature in 2017.Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has said Kane could be the ideal signing for the Red Devils in attack, and he told TalkSport (h/t Sky Sports' Nick Lustig) Mourinho would be making the right move in chasing Spurs' scoring talisman.Parlour said: "I'm sure Manchester United will be looking at him [Kane]. They will be thinking 'OK, Ibrahimovic is here at the moment but he's getting on a bitwe might need a new striker soon.'He [Kane] could be perfect for Manchester United."Ibrahimovic may not be the temporary fixture at United some view him to be, however, after Mourinhovoiced his confidence the veteran would extend his stay with the Premier League titans during the summer, per the Press Association:Cross mentioned in his report Kane is eager to draw closer to fellow England forward Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge, who earn 120,000 a week and 130,000 a week at Leicester City and Liverpool, respectively.United may not have room for Kane in their lineup as long as both Ibrahimovic and Rashford remain, however, meaning the club may have to wait on the former and where his future lies before making any move for Tottenham's ace.
