Liverpool Transfer News: Fresh Mahmoud Dahoud Rumours, Latest on Jonathan Tah

Published by Bleacher Report on Thu, 17 Nov 2016

Liverpool's hopes of landing Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud in January have been dashed after the German club's sporting director, Max Eberl, firmly ruled out the possibility of him leaving.According to German outlet Kicker (h/t Dan Gibbs of the DailyExpress), Eberl said: "There is a zero per cent chance that Mahmoud will leave in January. There is no offer for him on the table from any club, and we have not had any offers for him in the past, either."Gibbs added the Reds are interested in signing the midfielder, as are Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old is among the most exciting young talents in German football and has caught the eye with his extensive passing range, ability to glide past players in the centre of the park and his creativity going forward, not to mention his tireless running. Here's a look at what he could bring to Anfield if Liverpool were to sign him:Bundesliga expert Ross Dunbar and Bleacher Report'sLars Pollmann praised the youngster when he assistedThorgan Hazard's goal against Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League clash with Gladbach in September:Liverpool's interest in him is understandable, and he'd be a fine fit in manager Jurgen Klopp's system, and the Syria-born playmaker only looks set to get better in the coming years. While the Bundesliga outfit is determined to keep hold of him this winter, it seems the Reds may have an excellent opportunity to snap him up next summer, per Bild (h/t German football writer Clark Whitney):There will likely be plenty of competition for his signature, but the prospect of playing at Anfield under Klopp makes Liverpool a tempting prospect.Meanwhile, the Reds are also hoping to land Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah in January, according to SportBild (h/t the Liverpool Echo's Joe Rimmer). The 20-year-old man-mountain is a fierce ball-winner thanks to his strong tackling and aerial prowess, as demonstrated by WhoScored.com:Quick and physically adept, Tah is built to cope with the rigours of the Premier League, and his reading of the game belies his tender agehe too is well on his way to becoming an elite player. The Reds have shipped 14 goals in the league thus far, more than any other team in the top seven, so signing a partner for Joel Matip would be shrewd.Tah is an excellent candidate, but Leverkusen will likely be reluctant to part with one of their rising starslanding him in January will be difficult to pull off.
