6-Man Cruiserweight Tag Match: Winner, Reaction from WWE Hell in a Cell 2016

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 31 Oct 2016

In a showcase of Raw's cruiserweight division, Cedric Alexander, Lince Dorado and Sin Cara defeated Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari on Sunday night at WWE Hell in a Cell.WWE shared a photo of the winners after the match:WrestlingInc.com provided its initial reaction to the match:With the Cruiserweight Championship match between T.J. Perkins and Brian Kendrick booked for the main card, the rest of Raw's cruiserweights had an opportunity to shine on the kickoff show in a match that featured plenty of high-flying and death-defying moves.Due to the success of the Cruiserweight Classic on WWE Network, the company has dedicated a portion of Raw to the cruiserweights every week for the past couple of months, and it has resulted in some exciting action.Alexander and Dorado are two of the most dynamic Superstars WWE has to offer, while the addition of veteran Sin Cara made sense because of his penchant for high-risk wrestling. The other team brought a different brand of cruiserweight wrestling to the table, as Gulak is a submission specialist, while Daivari relies on his aggression and a blend of different styles.Nese has perhaps turned more heads than anyone else who took part in Sunday's six-man match, as The Premier Athlete owns a remarkable combination of power and agility that could eventually make him a crossover star outside the cruiserweight division. All six competitors put on an entertaining match Sunday, although WWE may be falling into the trap of throwing cruiserweight talent together without the benefit of storylines or character development. That has been the case on Raw, with the exception of TJP and Kendrick, which could be an issue for the rest of the division, since the fans have yet to be given a reason to care about the rest of the Superstars. The all-out effort the wrestlers gave at Hell in a Cell should endear them to the viewers, but the burden is on the creative team to parlay that into compelling segments outside the ring.Allowing Alexander, Dorado and Sin Cara to potentially vie for a title shot after coming out on the winning end Sunday could be one way to accomplish that, although Rich Swann may be next in line after beating Kendrick on Monday's Raw.Hell in a Cell was further proof that the cruiserweight division is stacked with top-level athletes who are capable of doing amazing things in the ring. However, WWE needs a complete effort to ensure the experiment is a success. Listen toRing Rust Radiofor all of the hot wrestling topics.
