European stocks slipped up on Wednesday,

European stocks slipped up on Wednesday, with all but two of the continent's major bourses closing the day in negative territory. Britain's FTSE 100 was the worst performer, dropping 0.81% to 6,961 points, dragged lower by miner Antofagasta and Costa Coffee owner Whitbread. Across the channel, Germany's DAX dropped 0.42%, while France's CAC fell 0.21%. In positive territory for the day were Spain's IBEX and Italy's FTSE MIB, up 0.35% and 0.27% respectively. The Euro Stoxx 50 broad index was almost unmoved, losing just 0.01%.Join the conversation about this story
