Shehu Tasks FG Over Surveillance Of Borno Borders

The Shehu of Borno , Alhaji Abubakar Umar Ibn Garbai Elkanemi yesterday appealed to the federal government to pay special surveillance on borders between Borno and neighbouring countries of Chad, Niger and Cameroon to finally dislodge Boko Haram out of Nigeria.The Royal Father who noted that the activities of Boko Haram terrorists at the three borders have seriously affected the economic lives of the people there made the appeal when students of strategic communications from Nigerian School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) , Bonny Camp ,Victoria Island ,Lagos paid him a visit.He commended the Nigerian military and other security agencies for ensuring that activities of Boko Haram in the Northeast is brought to a halt, adding that if not for the efforts of the Nigerian army , Borno and some states in the Northeast would have been overtaken by the terrorists. Your visit is a great honour to us .we are proud of you, because if not for your gallant efforts, Boko Haram terrorists would have completely occupied Borno and some states in the Northeast. The traditional institution will continue to cooperate with all the security agencies through information sharing. All the districts heads have been urged to bring security reports from their districts to my palace for onward delivery to the security agencies, said the Royal Father.Speaking shortly after their arrival, the Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations And Information, Col John Agim told the Royal Father that they are in Borno on study tour of operational activities to expose students on information management in crisis period.Col Agim further told the Shehu that the command has trained over 2000 officers from various information unit of the Nigerian Army throughout the country.
