Stephen Sullivan, one of the most physically imposing playmakers in the 2016 recruiting class, has chosen to play college football at LSU for the second time.Scout.com's Chad Simmons passed along the wide receiver's decision to join the Tigers over Mississippi State and TCU."I picked LSU because I trust they know what they are doing with the program and many athletes out of there have been very successful," Sullivan said, per Simmons.Sullivan, who already possesses ideal size for the position (6'5'', 230 pounds), is a 4-star prospect who ranks just outside the top 100 for 2016, according to 247Sports' composite rankings. He also checks in as the No. 18 wideout among the incoming group. The Donaldsonville High School (La.) star had previously committed to LSU before deciding to reopen the process back in August. He told Bleacher Report's Damon Sayles it all came down to ensuring he made the correct choice."I'm not saying LSU isn't a great school," Sullivan said. "I'm just making sure I find the school that fits me, because at the end of the day, it's going to be me at practice and in the classroom. I'm just making sure I'm doing the right thing."Now that he's done his due diligence to reach a final decision, the focus can shift toward building off his strong foundation to become an offensive weapon at the collegiate level. While his frame makes him stand out from the crowd, the other facets of his game must improve for him to make a consistent impact. Since he's not a burner, he'll need to become a precision route-runner in order to gain regular separation from defensive backs. His initial involvement will likely come in the red zone. It's going to take some time for him to develop his skill set, including blocking, to a point where he can be counted on for three downs. But he can cause matchup problems during the early stages of his college career in select situations.Ultimately, Sullivan is best viewed as a promising work in progress. It will be interesting to see how much he can improve over the next four years given his obvious tools.
