97 Graduate From Amnestys Agric Training Scheme

The Presidential Amnesty Programme has successfully graduated 97 delegates in advanced farming methods from the Bio-resources Development Centre, Odi, Bayelsa State.The ex-agitators who are now ambassadors to the country recently embraced the President Buahris Green Nigerian Project. They are part of the first batch of one hundred delegates deployed in November at the start of a joint pilot Agricultural training initiative involving five hundred delegates of PAP and supervised by the National Biotechnology Development Agency, NABDA.The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh (Rtd) who was represented at the ceremony by the head of Post training and Engagement, Major Abdul Matti (Rtd) lauded the delegates for their will, perseverance and dedication to the cause of lifting Nigeria to enviable heights using Agriculture.He described the training in advanced farming methods as vital to governments current crusade to explore the business opportunities in agriculture and tasked the delegates to be forthright and to deliver on the mandate handed to them by President Muhammadu Buhari.The successful delegates were trained in advance techniques in several farming areas including Fresh Water Fish Production (Aquaculture)79, Macro Propagation of Elite Plants (Banana, Plantain, Pineapple)5, Snail Farming, Grasscutter Farming3 and Household Production1.Various speakers at the event, including the Director General of the National Bio-technology Development Agency, Prof. Lucy Ogbadu, admonished the delegates to continue in the same vibrant spirit and enthusiasm in which they started the programme and to uphold the good efforts of the President. They were further advised to be good ambassadors of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and lead a life worthy of emulation.
